The disciplinary orientation of the position is open. Possible fields of study include – but are not limited to – cultural studies, literary studies, media studies, history, philosophy and social anthropology. Applicants are expected to teach interdisciplinary courses — mainly in the University’s Contextual Studies Programme — and to be committed to the University’s self-administration.
The University of St.Gallen offers BA, MA and PhD programmes in English and German. Teaching can be in English exclusively. The University’s administrative language is Ger- man. If the successful candidate has no prior knowledge of German, he or she will be ex- pected to acquire a passive knowledge of the language within two years.
The University of St.Gallen is strongly committed to promoting equal opportunities and diversity. We specifically encourage women and applicants with backgrounds underrepresented among our current senior faculty to apply.
