A century and a half after the abolition of slavery in the United States, the Underground Railroad, the formal and informal network of routes and people that helped fugitive slaves escape from the slaveholding South to freedom between the end of the 18th century and the Civil War, still draws considerable scholarly attention, whether it be through investigating its history or debating its many representations in public memory, literature and various art forms (Schulz, 2016). Un ponte tra editoria e accademia

Il lavoro di ricerca di studenti o dottorandi e la realtà dell’editoria a volte appaiono come due strade parallele. Spesso si esce dall’università senza conoscere il mondo delle case editrici, pensando che la ricerca si svolga tutta dentro l’accademia, senza alcuna possibilità di divulgazione delle proprie opere. Nella sezione “Reviews” del blog AISNA Graduates, ci proponiamo di far incontrare accademia ed editoria, costruendo un ponte che possa stimolare i giovani americanisti italiani a pubblicare i propri lavori in futuro e al tempo stesso aiutando piccole case editrici a far conoscere la propria offerta di americanistica.
