14th International Symposium on Comparative Literature
3 – 15 November 2018
Cairo University, Egypt
Deadline for submission: 15 April 2018
In an era where technology and social media are claimed to help in breaking/dissolving boundaries and creating a unified globe, borders continues to exist. Some of these are physical, imaginary and psychological reflected in language, literature, linguistics and the arts. It is still a world where barriers and boarders are constructed or reconstructed. Intersections of different kinds of borders, such as those of ethnicity, class or gender are among the prominent features of our world, and so are different forms of interdisciplinarity and multimodality. Admittedly, attempts at crossing existing borders are constantly made, sometimes with great success, other times with utter failure.
The Fourteenth International Symposium on comparative literature invites scholars to share their thoughts in the following areas of research, which include, but are not limited to:
Migration, Landscape and Identity
Refugee Issues Nomadism
Multimodality Multilingualism
Intersectionality Interdisciplinarity
Myth, Fantasy and Folklore Translation
