Bio: Anna Cadoni graduated from the University of Cagliari with a M.A. dissertation on hegemonic and
subordinate masculinities in Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury. She is currently a doctoral
candidate in American Literature at Roma Tre University. Her project “Politics of Affects in the
Female Bodies of Modernist American Novels” explores the female body as subversive factor in
affective dynamics of Modernist American literature, through the study of several novels written
between the 1920s and 1930s of the twentieth century. She worked as teaching fellow at the
Department of Romance Languages and Literature at Bowdoin College, Maine. In 2019 she
published “The Deposit of the Heart: famiglie, relazioni e legami in Nightwood”, with Ácoma,
Rivista internazionale di Studi Nordamericani. Her field of study includes feminist literature, affect
theory, Modernist literature and queer studies.
