Assistant Professor of Native American Literature
University of New Mexico—English Department
Deadline & how to apply
The Department of English at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Native American Literature to begin August 12, 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the normal course load as a regular faculty in our department, including required and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Native American literature; American literary studies; and Southwest Studies. Advising graduate students in Native American literature, as well as in American literary studies, is expected. We are especially interested in candidates who specialize in critical indigenous studies, race, class, gender, and feminism, especially as these relate to the Native peoples and cultures of the greater southwest. Candidates must be able to work across disciplines with indigenous students and faculty, and preference will be given to applicants whose scholarship focuses on the Native literatures and languages of the greater southwest.
The deadline to apply is November 2, 2018.
