The Society of Early Americanists Eleventh Biennial Conference
Eugene, Oregon, February 27th – March 3rd, 2019
The Eugene biennial will be the first for the SEA to be held on the West Coast. It will highlight how the Pacific Rim and the West are significant for Early American Studies, beyond the U.S. expansionist narratives of Lewis and Clark.

Keynote speakers will include:
— Prof. Michelle Burnham, Santa Clara University, “The Revolutionary Pacific: Transoceanic American Writing and the Calculus of Risk”
— Prof. Melinda Marie Jetté, author of At the Hearth of the Crossed Races: A French-Indian Community in Nineteenth-Century Oregon, 1812-1859
Deadline & how to apply
Panel proposals will be accepted through August 15th, and single papers up until September 15th.
Panel and paper proposals can be submitted at the program website: www.sea2019.exordo.com. There you will find thematic topics of panel streams, hosted by program committee members and other SEA members.
